The DNA of the CFO challenges the assumption that all chief financial officers (CFOs) are aspiring chief executive officers
(CEOs) and instead finds that the majority see their role as a vocation of its own. Of 669 CFOs interviewed across Europe,
Middle East, India and Africa by the Economist Intelligence Unit for Ernst & Young, 73% saw their role as a career destination
of its own with just 10% aspiring to be the CEO.

Agenda for medium-sized companies:
Psychological property: How do employees become co-entrepreneurs?
In this study, we attempt to answer the question of how employees are able to transform themselves into co-entrepreneurs.
We thus examine the psychology of employees and return to the concept of “psychological property”. We analyze whether an
employee who feels like they own the company shows more entrepreneurial spirit, despite the fact that they are not actually
the owner. We are also concerned with the factors influencing psychological property, in order to uncover the parameters that
enable this phenomenon to be actively tackled.

In the second quarter of 2010, the Swiss M&A market remained stable in terms of number of transactions. However,
transaction volume decreased significantly compared to Q1 2010. In addition, overall stock performance in Q2 2010 was
negative as the economic outlook and the European sovereign debt crisis weighed on the stock market. As a result of the
weakened stock market, valuation multiples decreased throughout all industry sectors in the second quarter of 2010.
