Leaders' Circle: Is there still room for economic and corporate growth?

(PDF, German, 2.14 MB)

March 10, 2008; Zurich

Until very recently economic growth was still a sure thing. But with the current situation on the financial markets, prospects now look less positive. Are companies now losing sight of growth? Are they still employing the right tools and strategies? In which direction is the economy heading from the global, European and Swiss perspectives? Ernst & Young presents a study on this subject and discusses possible answers to these questions with renowned individuals such as Dr. Beatrice Weder di Mauro (Member of the German Council of Economic Experts), Dr. Paul J. Hälg (CEO of Dätwyler Group) and Martin Studer (Member of the Management Committee of Ernst & Young AG). This event, one of the Leaders’ Circle series, will be held in German and is aimed at entrepreneurs and decision-makers at the highest management level. A few places are still free. We look forward to welcoming you. Registrations will be accepted until Friday, March 7.

At the start of 2006 the Swiss Solvency Test (SST) came into force with the revised law on the supervision of private insurers (Insurance Supervision Act) and the associated ordinance. The SST focuses primarily on the nominal security of the insurer’s annual balance sheets, in order to avoid any volatility which could involve dipping into share capital. Initially directed at private insurers, the question arises as to whether the SST rules should also be applied to pension funds. How can pension funds face this change? What is the influence of the European Solvency II regime on the Swiss solvency system?
